This project assessed the impact of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) on the economic performance and welfare of ASEAN Member States (AMS). The study examined the extent to which regional economic integration under the AEC framework contributed to economic growth, development, and integration among AMS and with ASEAN Dialogue Partners. Conducted over three years, the project developed and applied empirical methodologies to evaluate the outcomes of AEC implementation across various areas of economic integration. The study also served as a companion document to support the official AEC 2025 Midterm Review process and the enhancement of ASEAN’s monitoring and implementation mechanisms.
