Svara Institute conducted a study on the automotive industry to assess the impacts of the transition to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) on industry development, employment, and Local Content Requirements (TKDN) in Indonesia. The study analyzed the structure and readiness of the automotive sector, including stakeholder mapping, production capacity, supply chain implications, workforce impacts, and emerging skills needs. It also evaluated the implementation of TKDN policies, identified key challenges faced by manufacturers, and developed strategic policy recommendations to support domestic industry competitiveness while facilitating the transition to cleaner vehicle technologies.
