This study assessed the political economy and institutional feasibility of embedding economic analysis within Indonesian ministries to strengthen regulatory impact assessments (RIAs) and support evidence-based policymaking. The research examined how economic expertise could be integrated into Indonesia’s existing institutional ecosystem in line with the country’s aspirations for OECD accession and international standards of good regulatory practice.
The study explored adaptive pathways for reform by identifying institutional incentives, stakeholder coalitions, and feedback mechanisms that could support the organic emergence of such roles within ministries. The findings aimed to provide context-sensitive and politically feasible recommendations to enhance institutional capacity and regulatory governance in Indonesia
