Client: World Bank

Svara Institute (formerly Presisi Indonesia) jointly worked with the World Bank and Ministry of Trade in organizing trainings on “Industrial Data” and workshops on “Cost & Benefit Analysis of Trade Remedies Report” for government officials. The program consists of two sequential trainings which cover among others: (1) Industrial Statistics Data Management and Trade Remedies Analysis using Industrial Statistics; (2) Evaluating Injury in Dumping and Safeguard Cases.

The trainings, consisting of one-day or half-day workshops, were held weekly in November 2017. The objectives of the workshop are to allow participants to replicate Stata, do filing, and prepare a report on cost and benefit analysis of the imposition of anti-dumping duties based on Komite Anti Dumping Indonesia/Komite Pengamanan Perdagangan Indonesia (KADI/KPPI) report and additional supplementary data related to the case as recommended by the Tim Pertimbangan Kepentingan Nasional (TPKN). Case studies discussed are safeguards on I and H Section of steel products; anti-dumping on ammonium nitrate products; and anti-dumping on Cold Rolled Coil/Sheet products. The workshop participants were also practiced to prepare a report on Partially Oriented Yarn (POY). Overall the project covering four workshops was conducted successfully.
