Client: Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA)

In cooperation with ERIA and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Svara Institute (formerly Presisi Indonesia) reviews Small- and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) Policy in Indonesia. The 2018 ASEAN SME Policy Index (ASPI) is a benchmarking tool for the member economies to monitor and evaluate the progress of policies that support Micro-, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and assess the convergence of SME policies towards ASEAN good practices. This benchmarking tool is prepared based on the five goals of the ASEAN Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for SME Development 2016-2025, which provides for horizontal and targeted policy areas to guide the design and implementation of SME policies. The Index was jointly developed by the OECD and ERIA.

Svara Institute (formerly Presisi Indonesia) is one of independent consultants responsible for completing the independent assessment grid particularly for Indonesia. The independent assessment is based on inputs from local experts, collected data and information, and interviews conducted with key stakeholders and private sector representatives.
